P. ramorum and P. kernoviae research
A document containing key findings from all previous UK-funded research before April 2009 on P. ramorum and P. kernoviae is available to download below:
Final reports of all Defra-funded projects on P. ramorum and P. kernoviae can also be found directly on the Defra science and research pages.
New final reports recently published are as follows:
- PH0312: Species boundaries in Phytophthora pathogens of trees
- PH0408: Conservation of rare plants threatened by Phytophthora ramorum and P. kernoviae
- PH0412: Detection and identification of Phytophthora ramorum and Phytophthora kernoviae using simple field test kits
Other previous and new Defra-funded research reports for smaller projects on P. ramorum and P. kernoviae are available to download below:
- Studies to evaluate risks posed by Phytophthora kernoviae and Phytophthora ramorum to Vaccinium myrtillus (bilberry) and UK heathlands
- Investigation of alternative eradication control methods for P. ramorum and P. kernoviae on plants - Project 1 | Project 2
- Agrifos treatment of magnolia trees infected with P. kernoviae
- Susceptibility of heathland species to Phytophthora kernoviae
- Sequencing of Phytophthora kernoviae isolates from NZ and Europe
- Development of expertise in analysis of genetic diversity of Phytophthora ramorum using microsatellite markers
- Datamining for Phytophthora ramorum and P. kernoviae
- Assessment of the outcome of infection by Phytophthora kernoviae on woodland trees in Cornwall
A new Defra-funded Phytophthora ramorum and P. kernoviae Disease Management Programme began in April 2009. New research will be commissioned to support the main activities of the programme. The rationale, policy objectives and science objectives are laid out in a ROAME document against which the research will be commissioned from 2009.
Details of any calls in 2009 will be available from the Defra website in due course from August 2009.
