Potato cyst nematodes

The Potato Cyst Nematode (PCN) is a damaging pest of potatoes, listed in the Plant Health Directive (Council Directive 2000/29/EC). The Directive includes requirements on the movement of potatoes and plants with roots, intended for planting, within the Community and imported from third countries.

A specific Control Directive is in place to detect and control PCN. This is due to be replaced from July 2010 by an updated Control Directive.
